BCA Support - Quality

The BCA has a wealth of knowledge and resources for its members that will help and support care providers and their teams.

Dedicated Quality Leadership

The BCA is pleased to have appointed a dedicated Quality Lead, Sam Dawson, further strengthening our commitment to supporting providers and driving continuous improvement across services.

Sam works closely with providers, partners, and system colleagues to support quality improvement, regulatory readiness, and shared learning across the sector.

Quality Workshops & Spotlight Sessions

Throughout the year, BCA delivers Quality Workshops and Spotlight Sessions covering a wide range of key topics that are relevant and essential to the care sector.

In the first quarter of 2026, we delivered a Quality Workshop, with further workshops planned for later in the year. These sessions are designed to:

  • Share best practice across the sector
  • Provide practical, provider‑focused guidance
  • Support services to meet regulatory requirements and improve outcomes

Email admin@bradfordcareassociation.org for more information about upcoming events.

Quality & Compliance Support Tools

We have developed a growing range of practical support tools to help providers evidence quality, strengthen governance, and prepare for inspection, including:

  • Oliver McGowan decision‑making tree
  • Oliver McGowan example risk assessments
  • Top Tips Checklist, developed from learning shared during the March 2026 Quality Workshop
  • Pre‑inspection document checklist to help services prepare effectively for inspections

All tools are designed to be practical, accessible, and easy to embed into everyday practice.

CQC Feedback Sessions

To further strengthen partnership working and shared learning, BCA has introduced post‑inspection CQC feedback sessions.

These sessions focus on:

  • What worked well
  • Areas for improvement
  • Sharing insights with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to support stronger relationships and more effective joint working

This approach ensures learning from inspections is shared more widely across the sector.

Delegated Health Tasks

We are developing a strategic approach to Delegated Health Tasks, ensuring providers have appropriate governance arrangements in place to:

  • Support safe and effective practice
  • Maintain compliance
  • Provide assurance for staff, partners, and commissioners

This work will continue to develop over the year with provider involvement.

Safe & Well‑Led Forum

A quarterly Safe & Well‑Led Forum has been introduced to support leadership, governance, and quality assurance across services.

  • The first session takes place on 29 April 2026
  • The spotlight focus will be Refusal of Care

Each session will provide opportunities for shared learning, discussion, and peer support.

Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs)

BCA is working closely with local Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs), representing the provider sector and strengthening collaboration across the system.

Providers will be engaged more directly as this work progresses.

Nominated Individuals Forum (Coming Soon)

Later this year, BCA will introduce a Nominated Individuals Forum, creating a dedicated space for:

  • Shared learning
  • Peer support
  • Strategic discussion and sector updates

BCA Support Networks

Provider Update Meetings - The BCA Provider Meetings take place fortnightly on Tuesday’s from 10:30 – 11:30 via MS Teams. The meeting will include updates, guidance, discussions of good practice and will allow the opportunity for Providers to discuss any issues they may have.

BCA WhatsApp Community - Our BCA WhatsApp Community brings together over 350 providers to make communication quicker, clearer and easier. Within the Community, we host several dedicated groups, including: Management & Leadership Group, BCA Partners Update Group and Wellbeing & Activity Coordinators Network Group.
